In Hidiusim it is said that the entire Mahabharata characters are present in a Passion Flower. 100 blue petals resemble the Kauravas, 5 yellow ones in centre-the Pandavas & the green bulb in centre- Draupadi, the queen of Pandavas. The 3 filaments are for the holy trinity of Brahma, Vishnu & Mahesha. Colourful radial at centre is Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Krishna. Passion fruit is made from the Passion flower/vine itself (botanical name Passiflora). In India this fruit & flower are known as Krishna Phal & Krishna Kamal respectively.

In India passion fruit is cultivated in parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur & Sikkim. It is yellow at maturity. When sliced it emanates a unique, exotic, fruity & floral essence. The fruit is popularly used in ice creams, cocktails & in syrup form for a variety of pastries, pies, tarts, toppings. Its oil is used in cosmetics & aromatherapy.
