Himalayan Berries- Car Perfume

A variety of Berries are found in The Indian Himalayan region.


1. Hisalu- (Rubus ellipticus). These Himalayan raspberries are golden-yellow in color and belong to the rose family. Found jungles and wilderness of Uttarakhand & Nepal. Like raspberries they are exquisitely sour.


2. Kafal- (Myrica esculenta) commonly known as box berry or bay berry, this fruit is found in the sub-tropical Himalayas. The fruit is sweet, & locals typically eat it whole with seeds.


3. Mulberries- (Morus alba) These mulberries are white & can be cultivated in home gardens as well. Himalayan mulberries are quite sweeter than the red or purple mulberries of northern India.


4. Kilmora- or Kilmoda (barberry) is a wild fruit known as Kingod, Kilmodi etc and grown in wild Himalayan region of Uttarkhand. Kilmora is sweet as well as sour. It is known for its medicinal properties.


5. Blackberry belongs to the rose family. This shrub is full of thorns and is thick. It produces large edible blackberry fruits. The leaves are green with 4-5 round and edgy leaflets.


6. Blueberry- Most of the blueberries grow in cold climates. In India, blueberry fruits survive in Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, & Himachal Pradesh.
